No. Your location is never stored, logged, or shared by HerShieldNow. It is used only in your browser to query the OpenStreetMap Overpass API for nearby places. Once you close the page, no location data is retained anywhere.

The map shows women's shelters and social facilities, police stations, hospitals, universities, colleges, and schools — all of which can provide immediate safety, assistance, or refuge. Results are ranked by type priority and proximity so the most relevant places appear first.

Women's shelters (also called Swadhar Greh or One Stop Centres) in India provide temporary accommodation, food, medical aid, legal assistance, and counselling — completely free of charge. They are run by NGOs, state governments, and the Ministry of Women & Child Development. You do not need to register or have documents to seek emergency shelter.

One Stop Centres (also called Sakhi Centres) are government-run facilities set up under the Ministry of Women & Child Development to support women affected by violence. They offer police facilitation, medical aid, legal aid, psycho-social counselling, temporary shelter, and video conferencing for court hearings — all under one roof, 24×7, free of cost.
